Application of synthetic taxonomic indicators to mesure the efficiency of Chinese banks

Summary/Abstract: The aim of investigation is efficiency evaluation of 72 Chinese banks in years 2006 and 2007, applying synthetic taxonomic measures. To construct the indicators we employ data describing the financial situation of banks. Diagnostic variables are selected due to correlation analysis. On the basis of aggregated measures values banks are classified to four classes containing similar objects. The market position of analyzed banks and foreign investments are also considered in analysis.
