Summary/Abstract: There is no doubt that violence is linked with the mankind ever since. The difference between the past and the present is the form of its presentation. Mainly because of media, the recipient gets to see the images of violence way faster and easier than before. We can watch the armed conflict in Libya, angry protests in Athens or a dramatic hostage situation in the United States – all in real time and all from the comfort of our own homes. On the other hand, when was the last time, when there was something positive, so-called “happy news” live on TV? It has became very rare and we probably cannot even picture what is should look like. The trend of presenting negative news on TV is obvious and indisputable. Media analysis from four of Slovak major news programs proved the same.
