Development of transport systems in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article was to present problems concerning development of transport systems in Poland. The principles of sustainable development were included there. The changes of quantity and work structure which were recorded in 1995–2009 both in passenger and goods transport led to the predominance of transport by car. Analyzing the pace of developments in car service it is assumed that the way of these changes will be also current in foreseeable future. Moreover, the attention was paid to bigger disproportions in a structure of means of good transport in Poland than in Europe.
