Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to outline the global scope of Mircea Eliade’s shorter prose from the point of view of the sacred, with the aesthetic ciphering of Gnostic scenarios retracing the initiating structures. From a postmodern point of view the symbolic thinking actuated in the text is decoded from an aesthetic, ethnologic, linguistic, anthropological and religious perspective, proving that literary and scientific imagination can complement each other
