Linguistic Features in Umihana Cuvidina’s Work in Oral Tradition

Summary/Abstract: This paper points out specific poetic and linguistic characteristics of Umihana Cuvidina's poetry, which has been so far analysed as the literary and linguistic heritage of the alhamiado literature. This paper emphasizes the need to look at the poems by Umihana Cuvidina in isolation from the tradition of alhamiado literature, and offers concrete methods of and reasons for their emancipation.
