Summary/Abstract: The paper will try to indicate the principles of establishing collocations and phraseology in oral discourse. The focus will be on the fact that collocations entail strong and weak relations between words, i.e. the phenomenon of «anticipation» of one word with another, whereas phraseology means a change in the lexemes that form a phraseological expression. Both collocations and phrasemes, as lexical-semantic phenomena, follow certain rules of generation in oral expression, and the paper will try to explain how they are established and how they evolve in meaning. Moreover, the paper will offer an explanation of different collocations and phraseology development as a particular linguistic pattern in epic oral literary tradition.
