Summary/Abstract: The study is an attempt to analyse a few chosen theoretical concepts of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Among many various interpretations concerning FDI only a few precisely analyse the most important factors and mechanisms of FDI. In particular these concepts are trying to explain basic determinants of investing capital by foreign investors. Interpretations presented in this study may constitute the point of departure for new, more perfect theories.
