A New Genoese Document about Stephen the Great

Summary/Abstract: The Italian historians Enrico Basso and Alfonso Assini have recently mentioned the presence in the Genoa's Archives of a document from January 12, 1468. It offers new evidence concerning an event from May 1467, when a former Consul in Caffa, Gregorio de Reza, together with three other Genoeses, members of his retinue, was arrested in Moldavia and obliged to meet the prince Stephen the Great. This document is now published and confronted with some other sources. "Cu prilejul unui colocviu italo-român, ale cărui lucrări s-au desfăşurat la Veneţia în martie 1995, istoricul italian Enrico Basso a semnalat pentru prima oară un act inedit ce se păstrează în Arhivele din Genova şi care vorbeşte de un incident de „notevole gravità”, petrecut în Moldova „nel maggio 1467”.
