Summary/Abstract: “We think that the principle which every scientist should pursue is the objective search for the truth in processing materials and pre-sentation of scientific facts. However, objective does not mean an indi-fferent scientist, particularly in dealing with problems of both scientific and national importance”. Çabej Scientific world of Albanian Linguistics has not had nor will have for quite a long period of time a more capable scientist than Pro-fessor Çabej. His very rare wisdom was shaped by indefatigable work during his whole life, therefore we may add without any hesitation that he has managed to become a scientist of global dimensions. In our opinion, this zealot of our science will remain insuperable for a long time. He has left deep traces of science in the field of etymology, his-tory of language, Albanian dialects, particularly in their history, Alba-nian lexis, transcription, material and spiritual life of his people. In a word, wherever he touched, he did it with a secure hand, with mathematical certainty. He penetrated into unimaginable depths and widths of disciplines as no one else in Albanian scientific world. This time, we shall observe Professor Çabej’s scientific activity from two very narrow angles, we shall observe passive conjugation with certain analytical forms of a verb and the use of gerund cons-tructions in Professor Eqrem Çabej’s works. It should be mentioned here that He has not used passive voice anywhere in analytical forms with the auxiliary jam (be) – but he put the formant particle – u – in front of the active voice and thus formed the passive. Thus not është vrarë, but u ka vrarë, not isha vrarë but u kisha vrarë; not qeshë vrarë but u pata vrarë etc. In order to be convinced about this, we shall line up numerous examples from “Studimet gjuhësore” (“Lin-guistic Studies”) IV, V and VI published in Prishtina. Here are several examples from “Studime gjuhësore” N0 IV1: “… se u ka shqiptuar, (instead of – është shqiptuar) dhe e gjejmë edhe në autorë më të rinj se Matranga.” (pg.8) “Se historia e artikullit shqip edhe nuk u ka shkruar (instead of – nuk është shkruar)” (pg.10) “Kjo terminologji e vjetër u ka mbajtur (instead of - është mbajtur) në dida dialekte të mënjanuara të bregdetit ...” (pg. 160). With admirative mood, more exactly with its present perfect ten-se, the passive appears in the same manner, which means that the for-mant particle - u – is put before the active voice such as: ... u paska zhvilluar (instead of – qenka zhvilluar) në bazë të disa supozimeve etnologjike e linguistike” . (pg. 173) Note: We found this type of passive in the language of Struzhë village near Prizren and here and there in the villages of Vrrini near Prizre. I had an opportunity to hear the passive conjugation of the past perfect tense indicative mood from an old man in Ulqin with its form – u pat martu (for – qe martuar), that is, just as Prof. Çabej in his scien-tific works.
