Summary/Abstract: The research is aimed at revealing the interpretations of the essence of human being and existence in juvenile works of Lithuanian thinkers (20th–21st century). The object of the research is a human’s being in juvenile works of Lithuanian thinkers in the 20st–21st century. In the 20th century Vydûnas (1911–1914) S. Yla (1935–1968), M. Peèkauskaitë (1948), S. Ðalkauskis (1938) (were writing for youth about spirituality, morality, transcendental values. These writers were orientated towards juvenile problems in Lithuania, in the 3rd–4th decade. In the beginning of the 21st century life arouse new problems for Lithuanian people (including young people), encouraged them to think about the meaning of life and to find a place in it. The book “About Our Being” written by L. Jovaiða is especially significant, because it has many answers to young people’s questions concerning world outlook. The results of the research show that in the latter years’ literature it is written both about objective and subjective being. Being is cognitive and sciences of gnosticology and psychology help to cognize it. The reality is cognized by senses and logical thinking. A word and speech play an important role in cognition. Beside that, a word helps to cognize oneself. The authors are writing about an intuitive cognition of reality. A human strives to cognize the truth, which is both objective and subjective. The most reliable criteria of truth’s cognition are the laws of nature. Issues concerning transcendental sphere are analyzed with the help of feelings and beliefs. Considering the issue of being’s cognition the biggest attention is paid to the universe. Everything has informational links in it, so inanimate nature, animals and people know how to behave. Nature is a spiritual phenomenon. A human is flying in a small part of the universe, at the edge of the Milky Way. At first the universe appeared, then the earth, a human, who thought about spiritual unearthly being, because one has a feeling in nature, uniting him / her with another world. The concept of entity includes consciousness with all its constructs and everything what is behind consciousness. It is integral. Harmony is a normal state of humankind. A human is the most perfect animal of the earth. The ancestor of a primitive was a human and absolute freedom is common for him / her. He / she is creative, has abstract thinking, controls one’s being, plans and conducts the present for him / her, for nature and humankind. A human is the most perfect communicator. A special factor, which educates a human, is experience. The content of a human’s spirit depends on the quality of the environment. Humans act due to three things: food, clothing and accommodation. A very important problem of existence is choosing school, profession, a partner. The most important condition of a successful choice is cognition of a sphere of certain activity and vocation.
