Summary/Abstract: This study aims to reflect the public’s perception towards the women’s image in film noir and to present whether the women's portrayal in this type of productions is or is not of interest nowadays. What is the dominant image of the woman in film noir in the public's vision? Is the femme fatale a model of beauty and conduct in the contemporary society? Is the femme fatale in film noir a source of inspiration to other media, such as television productions, advertisements, music and others? These would be some of the questions that will be answered throughout the article. The paper also aims to emphasize the structure of the contemporary public of film noir, based on the data analysis (gender, age, marital status, education level, and occupation) that, otherwise, is kept confidential and is used only for academic purpose
