Summary/Abstract: The article presents the condition of Tomaszow industry in the early twentieth century, where textile industry and chemical industry were developed. What is presented here is the development of individual plants of the textile industry since their beginnings, until the outbreak of the First World War. The process of creating the largest industrial plant industrial in Tomaszow is depicted here – The Artificial Silk Factory of Tomaszow. The following information describes the collapse of the industry during World War I and the loss it suffered as a result. The work was written based on the records kept in the State Archives of Piotrkow, Tomaszow Branch, and the latest literature.
