Summary/Abstract: Some scientists believe that creative works are connected with negative emotions – creative people are exposed to fear of rejection or social judgment. Research shows that especially poets oft en suff er from depressed mood states. On the other hand, many studies have documented the relationships between creativity and positive emotions. Positive mood has impact on broadening the range of associations. What is more, happiness is associated with fl ow state. In this article I make an att empt to integrate these two perspectives. I present also some examples from my own clinical experience – art therapy in the complex treatment of addictions ECO „School of Life” in Wandzin and the project „Masska” as an example of occupational therapy.
