Summary/Abstract: Nowadays, regional history research, carried out on Ottoman History, has turned out to be quite popular and it is seen that history of places such as a city, a village or the like. is tried to be illuminated based upon archieve documents. City of Demirci within Saruhan Region, having witnessed settlement since prehistoric times and then with Saruhanoğulları Beylik having entered into the Turkish domination at the beginning of the XIV. Century became a center. When the region fell under the rule of Ottoman Empire in the year 1410, Demirci as the center of this sanjak took place in Ottoman state system under the name of Saruhan Sanjak and, at present it continues its existence as a district of Manisa. Demographical structure of the City of Demirci having been located as the center of Demirci in 16th century, a district of Saruhan Sanjak, constitutes the subject matterof our study. In this regard, comparisons have been made with neighbouring cities. Main resources of our study consist of record books no:115 in Land Registry Record Books Archieve and record books no: 165 within Prime Ministry Ottoman Archive. It is understood that Demirci city with 13 settlement areas and approximately a population of 4 thousand people has been more developed, when it is compared to its neighbouring cities. It is proven from archive documents that in that period of the city, it witnessed both non- moslem and nomadic population in addition to its regular settlers.
