Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the substance of the modifications given by the Amsterdam Treaty and its importace for the deeping of the European integration, including the creating of the area of freedom, security and justice. The evaluation is done from ten years retrospective interval, following the adaption of this dokument and with respect to the further revised acts of the primary law.
