Mythical reality in postmodernist fiction

Summary/Abstract: Starting from the so-called parasitical aspect of postmodernist fiction and its dependence on tradition, the paper aims at demonstrating the way in which John Barth approaches myth and transforms it into a contemporary paradigm. Paradoxically, postmodernist deconstruction of myth helps to enshrining the latter into the contemporary world.
