Summary/Abstract: The text directs the attention of the researchers to some emblematic for the Socialist period Bulgarian songs from films for children. The study tries to find the place of these songs in the dynamics of the children-teenage socialist culture. It tries to establish some of the key aspects of the meaning in the texts of the songs. In this respect of key importance is the understanding of childhood as lacking: on behalf of the children as strive to get away from childhood (from the real childhood), while from nostalgic point of view of the elderly as a dream to return to childhood (to the magical childhood). The report also offers a gender prism for the interpretation of the children’s film songs in which (in correspondence with the films) dominant is the boy’s point of view. Looking at the perception of the film songs the text also makes a allusion for the long-term social and psychological memory of their ‘messages’. On the basis of the analyzed material the conclusion about the domination role of the real over the magical in the Bulgarian children’s songs is made and also in the films and phenomena of which they are a symbol of.
