Economic information - the notion and types

Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the notion of economic information, contrasting it with terms similar in meaning, i.e. business and agriculture information. Several definitions and interpretations of the notion were compared. Selected classifications of economic information according to E. Jasin were presented. The features of economic information and its types — factographic, micro and macroeconomic, aggregated and disaggregated, as well as retrospective and prospective one were discussed. The three most important functions of economic information, i.e. an informative, decisive and steering one were described. The economic rate, being the most frequent form of the appearance of economic information was defined.
