Summary/Abstract: Paper deals with jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic on the issue of elections to the Parliament of the Czech Republic, which represents an important factor influencing the politics of electoral reform in the Czech Republic. The Czech Constitutional Court jurisprudence creates a constitutional and institutional framework that defines the space for the implementation of electoral reforms. The Constitutional Court is also a significant veto player entering the politics of electoral reform in the Czech Republic through its decisions (e.g. in 2001). The paper presents the most significant decisions of the Czech Constitutional Court (notably the 1997 and the 2001 decisions), which create the framework, and its impact on the politics of electoral reform in the Czech Republic.
