Summary/Abstract: A lack of authenticity pervades all the planes of spiritual life and, in particular, man’s encounter and communion with the Lord and with his fellows. It is not difficult to see that those who are intimately inspired by the same ideals and existential questions no longer, in most cases, are subjects of communion, in a community and sacramental perspective, but rather mere “objects” offered for contemplation. Orthodox theology asserts that the ultimate source and basis of community consciousness is the communion of life and love of the Holy Trinity, which filled the world when the fullness of time came, with the incarnation of God’s Son. The act of incarnation was the ultimate revelation of the love of the Triune God. The everlasting love between the Father and the Son in the Holy Spirit expresses the Trinitarian communion and unity in God; man is called to achieve communion with all fellows in the image of God’s love.
