MICROURME BIOLOGICE DE NATURĂ VEGETALĂ CU RELEVANŢĂ ÎN INVESTIGAREA CRIMINALISTICĂ A MORŢILOR SUSPECTE
VEGETAL AND BIOLOGICAL MICROTRACES THAT ARE RELEVANT IN FORENSIC INVESTIGATION OF SUSPICIOUS DEATHS

Summary/Abstract: This article aims to highlight the role and importance of vegetal and biological microtraces, especially diatoms, in investigating and diagnosing death by drowning. Within this article we presented the definition and classification of microtraces. We treated diatoms as micro plants. We did a historical retrospective on their use in forensics and Criminalistics. We explained what diatoms are, where they live, how they can be discovered, collected and under what conditions can be used as biological microtraces in Criminalistics and forensics. We have also presented the problems that can be clarified by studying diatoms in cases of death by drowning. Finally, we added some conclusions.
