Summary/Abstract: The international psychological literature shows that peer group education is a powerful tool which can efficiently contribute to the promotion of healthy behaviors and psychological wellbeing. It works promoting valuable life skills (WHO) and applying horizontal communication models, in order to attribute to the target groups an active role in their change processes. Even though the peer group education is usually involved in interventions devoted to prevent high-risk behaviors (as drug and alcohol addictions), in the last part of this article, the authors propose an alternative application of this strategy. It is a proposal of interventions aimed to reduce prejudice and discrimination against deaf and hearing impaired persons. The main goal of the present study is, in fact, to promote inclusion and active participation of adolescent students with hearing disabilities attending "normal" high schools.
