Summary/Abstract: This article intends to give an accurate view on the economic and political Russian framework. The analysis tries to expose the main mechanisms behind Vladimir Putin’s administration, as well as the changes that Medvedev’s mandate brought to the administration. The article concentrates on Russia’s political and economical capabilities, that define it either in terms of a great power or a vulnerable state, as well as the degree of social security it provides for its citizens.
