NATO-Russia: More Than Just a Council

Summary/Abstract: The article is a debate on the instability of the NATO – Russia relation caused by both Russia’s claustrophobia, an ex empire unable to give up in territories that no longer possesses, and NATO’s punitive reactions towards Russian’s external politics. The main tendency is to potentiate those areas of common interest for both parts in order to improve their relations. One of the most important factors to improve the dialogue is the new American president, Barrack Obama, whose electoral platform contained as a main purpose improving relations with Russia.
