Summary/Abstract: The paper is attached to the problem of examining the SME sector’s environment in Lithuania and EU. The SME sector is a key sector for generating employment and economic growth. In order to make the SME’s economic environment more effective, Lithuanian governmental institutions should improve juridical environment, the tax system and infrastructure, to foster innovations in SME.
