Summary/Abstract: Resilience has become a very complex concept, especially when referred to national security. Against the background of dynamic security challenges, consolidated democracies have understood the role of resilient, active institutions and societies and developed strategies and mechanisms to ensure efficient cooperation, response and recovery in crisis situations at the national level. The aim of this paper is to underline the importance of resilience in ensuring national security, by providing an analysis of the origin and evolution of the concept, the approach of different nations to resilience, as well as the role of intelligence analysis and foresight in the implementation of the concept.
