Summary/Abstract: In the context in which most intelligence structures (especially in the Euro-Atlantic area) are trying to adjust to the new security environment, establishing a common language and implementing a “conceptual inter-operability” in relation to the analytical methodology used by either allied or partner intelligence services represent a major concern in Romania. The need to eliminate the semantic ambiguities from the language used in the analytical area of intelligence is even more important since the dynamics of the security environment makes the institutions which have certain tasks in this area to assume new responsibilities and missions against new risks and threats. This situation implies not only language extension and reshaping but also a clear explanation in order to be more easily perceived within the intelligence analysts’ community and have a general consensus, as well.
