Summary/Abstract: László Szilasi critic, literary historian studies old and nineteenth-century Hungarian literature, as well as contemporary authors. His volume presents a collection of studies on Mór Jókai, an important and popular author of nineteenth-century Hungarian novel literature, who had a decisive effect on reading habits of the period. The texts make an attempt to rethink the long-standing ways of reading Jókai.
