Summary/Abstract: The present work tries to reconstitute the bibliographical and historiographical perspective concerning the book and print in Hebrew characters during the 17th - 20th centuries. The analysis follows three levels of approach: 1. Bibliographies and studies on the history of the Hebrew book in Europe. 2. Bibliographies and studies on the history of the Hebrew book in Central and Eastern Europe. 3. Jewish books and print in Hungary and Transylvania. The analysis of the three levels of interpretation creates a necessary precedent for the study in the history of the Jewish book and print that represents an important chapter of the Jewish culture in this part of the world.
