Summary/Abstract: Borislav Pekić opens a field for an ontological de/stabilisation of the collective memory, which is split between the modes of semantic condensation (summary scanning) and semantic dispersion (sequential scanning). The analysis shows the main characteristics and procedures of this model of narration. Moreover, a dense tissue of symbolic codes is highly significant here, as it extends the semantic level of the novel Atlantis, activating the contextual underpinning as well. Accordingly, he shows the epistemological and ontological relativism of literature and in literature. The importance of a model of interpretation thus fashioned becomes clear with regard to the aspects of comprehending those meanings that have not be adequately explicated so far, although they represent an important part of Pekić’s philosophy and psychology of creation.
