Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to identify the income situation of households with a dis-abled person and evaluate the degree of this differentiation. The results of a survey conducted in the first quarter of 2005 on a sample of 2860 households with at least one disabled person residing in Wrzesnia district were the source of data. The analysis used statistical tests of significance of differences between the average incomes (Z-test and F-test from the analysis of variance), measures of the distance between the structures, entropy factor and multidimensional analysis of correspondence. The analyzed community was investigated by features describing both the household (dwelling-place, type of household, main source of income, age and education of family’s head) and the disabled person (degree of disability, its duration and position in the family). The main conclusion from the analysis is that there is a significant variation of incomes of households surveyed by several criteria. Households in which the head has higher education and those in which the head of the family has a vocational education differ the most. In the first case the incomes distribution is characterized by a small asymmetry of right-hand with the average revenue per equivalent unit of more than 1100 zlotys, in the second case there is definitely stronger right-handed asymmetry and the average income in such holdings barely exceeds 700 zlotys.
