Summary/Abstract: Social reality in the study of international relations has also produced a distinctive outlook for the field of security studies! Constructivism, unlike the other more unitary and utilized approaches in the study of international relations, does not entirely regard security as an area in which statecraft qualities are to be revealed or tested. This article’s aim is to pinpoint the fact that, through the constructivist angle of analysis, security is revalidated by the security cultures (also called strategic cultures). The argument presented in this article focuses upon highlighting the main theoretical constructivist instruments among which security cultures have to be regarded ambivalently: as a rigurous mainstay in security and defense studies and as a trendsetter in the study of international relations.
