Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses the relationship between particular characteristics of employed married women and the wages they earn. The analysis was based on a data set from the labour force survey (LFS, BAEL) conducted by the CSO in Poland in the first quarter of 2009. The dependent variable was defined as the net wage in the previous month in the main job adjusted to particular intervals. This variable was modeled using an ordered probit model for the ordered categorised dependent variable with normally distributed disturbances, which allowed us to elaborate those characteristics of married women that increased the likelihood of their obtaining a higher salary and those which decreased it are shown.
