Summary/Abstract: This article is addressing the concept of media objectivity, at the beginning of the 3rd millennium. The author is stating that, today, the old saying ‘journalists are not objective, massmedia are’ is no true at all. In the context of globalization and dominance of big media companies, the capabilities of modern journalism, as being immediate, sensational and pervasive, are no more sufficient to resist the political pressure. The continuous struggle for the ‘media scoop’ is proving to be, ultimately, a trap for those journalists who are trying to intensify emotional and on-the-spot depictions, often at the expense of analysis and investigative reporting.
