Summary/Abstract: The author outlines the different levels of display of the discourse of prognosis and prediction in the Old-Bulgarian literature and the folklore, defining the spheres of their interrelationship, their specific dialogic construction, and their relations with other discourse types (the wedding rite, the folklore prose). The specific semantic matrix of prognostic discourse is also delineated. It is regarded both as а dynamic formation, а horizon of the furthest meaning, and as а static, non-transparent unit which destroys the semantic procedure.
