After the fall of the communism teaching religion at school or even the religious schools were gradually allowed, as religious education becoming compulsory in public schools and as the properties of the church mainly real estates were given back to the church. The new educational law that entered into force in 2011 makes possible the re-opening of the religious schools with the support from the state budget. The study summarizes through the Episcopal circulars the effort made by the Roman Catholic Church form Transylvania to maintain the religious education that continues today within the limits of an already favorable legislation.
