Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses the question how public information means (television, press, the Internet, radio) influence gymnasiums’ image creation and management. In order to analyze this question scientific and publistic articles have been analyzed, statistical data, laws of the Republic of Lithuania have been used, and a research was carried out in Šiauliai city gymnasiums. In the research it has been identified that public information means are widely used not only by companies but also by people in their free-time, at work, searching for information and for recreation. Public information means take an important place in people’s lives. In accordance with this a gymnasium can influence people’s decisions important for them and also create and manage the image and simultaneously institutions to seek implement the aims of general education.
