Summary/Abstract: In his review, Vytautas Berengis evaluated the book Chrestomathy of the Modern History of the 19th Century (Lith. Moderniosios XIX a. istorijos chrestomatija) compiled and published by a group of authors (V. Kniūraitė, A. Mickevičius, M. Nefas, V. Pukienė) in 2012. According to the reviewer, the chrestomathy focuses on historical documents; therefore, it refuses texts which can be found in monographs and review-type Lithuanian publications. The chrestomathy provides political, economic and statistical data about the development of Germany, the US and Russia, showing the growth or decline of the geopolitical power of these countries. Even though the publication is intended for students and teachers, it can also be used by politologists, political commentators and politicians in a targeted manner. It is a digest of world history, law and economics, which does not only play a role of fast information search but also the application of that information in the hectic 21st century.
