Summary/Abstract: The study deals with the phenomenon of the school of stage direction in the Czech theatre in 1990's. The theoretical base of the study is the reminiscence of ideologically deformed interpretation of K. S. Stanislavskij's method from 1950's. Ttwo examples of outstanding personalities of stage directors – Oxana Smilkova and Sergej Fedotov – are given to illustrate the essentials of the methods of directors.
