Methodological Issues of the Complex Study of the Naturaland Cultural-Historical Heritage in the Yantra River Basin

Summary/Abstract: The paper examines methodological issues of the complex study of natural and cultural heritage, cpecifically with regard to sites in rural areas in the districts of Veliko Tarnovo and Gabrovo. The emphasis is on the information sources and the type of data used, the methods of field research and the planned practical activities. Some results and guidelines in digital documentation are presented. Partucular attention is paid to the problems of preserving cultural and historical monuments in rural settlements and the opportnities for the development of specialized types of tourism in rural areas.
