Summary/Abstract: The article explores the depth of biblical exegesis in the theology of Saint Cyril of Alexandria, highlighting the Christocentric dimension of his scriptural interpretation. The analysis demonstrates how the hypostatic union between Christ's divinity and humanity serves as the central hermeneutical key. A distinctive element of Saint Cyril’s exegesis is the application of the communicatio idiomatum principle, allowing the reciprocal attribution of the properties of Christ’s two natures to the one Person without confusion or division. His interpretive method is also inherently apologetic, directed against heresies—especially Nestorianism—and aimed at defending the orthodox faith. The paper further underscores the lasting influence of Cyril’s biblical theology on later Orthodox tradition. Saint Cyril thus emerges not only as an exegete but also as a model of integrative theological reading, uniting Scripture, Tradition, and ecclesial life around the mystery of the incarnate Word.
