Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the oral history and collective memory of the descendants of Asia Minor Bulgarians who re-emigrated from Asia Minor to the Ivaylovgrad region in southern Bulgaria in 1914. Using semi-structured interviews, the author reconstructs the narratives of two local groups (Kodžabunarci and Boašerliji) and analyzes how these memories shape their ethno-cultural identity. The study contrasts "official" historiography with "internal" perspectives, highlighting the role of symbols, schematic models, and the selective nature of oral tradition in preserving the community's history.
