The role of public policies in promoting sustainability

Summary/Abstract: The scientific research paper entitled “The Role of Public Policies in Promoting Sustainability” analyzes the importance of state intervention and public institutions in supporting sustainable development and addressing contemporary challenges generated by climate change, environmental degradation, and the excessive use of natural resources. In the context of the intensification of global environmental issues, public policies represent essential instruments for guiding society and the economy toward sustainable development models. The research aims to highlight the main policies and strategies implemented at the international, European, and national levels for environmental protection, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the promotion of the circular economy, and the efficient use of resources. At the same time, the paper examines the role of public institutions in the development and implementation of legislative, fiscal, and administrative measures designed to support economic, social, and environmental sustainability.
