Summary/Abstract: The subject of this article is an analysis of legal acts regulating the duties of civil servants during the Second Polish Republic, i.e., during the years 1918-1939. The first part discusses the provisions concerning the duties of Polish civil servants contained in the act "Provisional Service Regulations for Civil Servants," drafted and enacted by the Regency Council of the Kingdom of Poland shortly before Poland regained its independence. The second part interprets the provisions established on the basis of the Act of 17 February 1922 on the civil service. Reference is made to the relevant provisions of other acts, both of generally applicable law and internal law. Attention was drawn to which of the duties of civil servants in the Second Polish Republic were treated with particular importance by the legislators of the time. The scale of the impact of political, social and economic conditions on the content of the provisions of both civil service regulations was explained. The question of how the regulations governing the duties of civil servants influenced the model of civil service developed in Poland in the interwar period was also answered.
