Summary/Abstract: This study explores the religious lexicon in Gala Galaction’s prose, highlighting his distinctive style where archaic ecclesiastical terms coexist with modern expressions reflecting contemporary thought. Galaction’s language illustrates how both sacred and everyday words acquire spiritual resonance, forming networks of synonyms that deepen concepts of divinity, evil, salvation, and moral guidance. Adjectives, interjections, and ritual expressions further elevate the mundane, transforming daily life into a reflection of the sacred. The analysis demonstrates that language in Galaction’s prose serves not only as a communicative tool but also as a medium for spiritual representation, ethical instruction, and cultural expression. This interplay between traditional and modern vocabulary illustrates the evolution of Romanian religious lexicon in the early twentieth century. His evocative vocabulary grants authority and metaphysical significance to characters, events, and narrative structures, revealing how the sacred permeates both literary form and collective imagination.
