European Union Policy and Plans for the Transformation of the European Transport Sector: Polish Perspective

Summary/Abstract: The article presents current European Union policies on transforming the European transport sector and developing sustainable and intelligent mobility. The first part of the article discusses the EU plans for developing the member states' transport infrastructure. Then, it describes the European Union primary initiatives for sustainable transport development. It also presents strategic plans and other initiatives currently in force in Poland in this area. The assessment made in the article of the EU plans to transform the European transport sector confirms the need to continue the EU efforts to introduce a model of sustainable and intelligent mobility, especially with regard to the planned decarbonisation of transport and efforts to achieve the climate goals set by the European Union.
