Summary/Abstract: Fr. Ioan Pintea presents the project to recover and publish the correspondence of George Coșbuc, launched in 2019 by the Bistrița-Năsăud County Library. The undertaking represents a pioneering effort, bringing together letters scattered across major institutions—including the Romanian Academy and the National Museum of Romanian Literature—as well as previously unpublished private archives, such as those preserved by the poet’s descendants. The epistolary corpus reveals a writer of remarkable naturalness, whose style moves effortlessly between irony and melancholy and who was capable of composing verses even in brief personal notes. The article also sheds light on Coșbuc’s spiritual profile, portraying him as an “ecumenical” personality: born into a Greek Catholic family, he later embraced the Orthodox rite while maintaining equal respect for both traditions. The publication of these documents is described by the author with a play on the Romanian word răzbunare (“revenge”), transformed into răs-bunare, to suggest restoration through goodness—a restoration of the poet’s memory by bringing his life and work back into a clear and well-documented perspective.
