Summary/Abstract: This article is a review of an anastatic edition of the novel Craii de Curtea-Veche published in 1945 by Mateiu Caragiale. The volume was illustrated by George Tomaziu and edited by Dinu Albulescu and N. Steinhardt. George Tomaziu, through his “14 color illustrations,” gave a visual interpretation and a new identity to Craii de Curtea-Veche. The reprinting of Craii de Curtea-Veche in an anastatic edition can be seen as a major editorial gesture, a bibliographic repair, and more; a natural and necessary addition that enriches the bibliography of the novel and also brings out of oblivion a title so little known in the bibliographies of Steinhardt and Tomaziu.
