Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the study is to review the scientific literature with a view to answering the question of what are the possibilities (optimal techniques, methods) to support the development of creativity and pro-innovative attitudes in children with selective mutism, but also what is/could be the role of the teacher in this process. The analysis of the source literature makes it possible to point out that the enhancement of creativity should become a priority of educational programs at the early childhood stage and can be an important channel of therapeutic interactions in working with children with anxiety disorders, including selective mutism. The first part of the paper discusses the specifics of how children with selective mutism function in a non-family environment. Next, the definition of creativity is recalled and the need to develop the creative potential of children with mutism is emphasized. Next, activities aimed at the development of divergent thinking of children with mutism at preschool/early school age were characterized, which should become a priority educational task of educational institutions. Further, the role of the teacher in the process of supporting the development of creativity and pro-innovative attitudes is presented. In the last part of the study, selected methods and techniques were signalled, which can be used to develop the creativity of children with selective mutism, while being the key to their therapy. The role of creativity training in this area was also emphasized. Based on the analysis of the source literature, it is clear that the school occupies an important place in the process of supporting, developing the creativity of children with selective mutism. An important role is played here by the teacher and his attitudes. The role of educators is to create an educational environment that could support the development of children's divergent thinking.
