Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to critically assess an interdisciplinary investigation into the complexities of translating the journalistic discourse. The study takes into account the domain of journalism and the evolution of mass media, aspects which have been previously addressed in other articles I have written, such as Translation Studies And The Influence Of Anglicization And Calque On The Restructuring Of Other Languages or Translation Approaches And Peculiarities In Translating The Journalistic Discourse, as well as the international communication networks and sets to place the translator not simply as a linguistic mediator, but rather as a vital gatekeeper, having the role of reconstructing the events for a completely new cultural audience. The research also explores how the pragmatic-stylistic markers of periodic press undergo various structural shifts during the translation process, with the purpose of emphasizing the challenges overcome while achieving a dynamic equivalence in magazine headlines. Moreover, the thesis has in view the narrative function of press photography, thus highlighting the intersection between translation and visual semiotics. The present text also analyzes the distinct types of translation strategies adopted to be used for various news taxonomies. Ultimately, this research aims to demonstrate that translating journalistic discourse is an elaborate act of cultural localization, which permanently and actively redefines and shapes the target society and its cultural reality.
